are there different levels of facelift procedure available?

Summary: There are some procedures you can get any day of the week. But then, there are also some cosmetic surgery procedures you might prefer to have performed over the weekend. Are there advantages to getting cosmetic surgery over the weekend? In many cases, a couple of extra days to let your body heal is definitely a good thing!

Can You Get Cosmetic Surgery Over the Weekend?

Sometimes you just want a quick transformation. That’s where cosmetic surgery comes in. So you start wondering if there are any cosmetic surgery procedures that are good to undergo over the weekend. The weekend, after all, gives you a couple of days away from your job and any other responsibilities you might have.

That makes Saturday and Sunday a great time to recover from any possible cosmetic surgery procedure. Now, to clarify, a weekend is not going to be sufficient time for you to recover from most plastic surgery procedures. Something like a breast augmentation or liposuction will usually require a couple of weeks of recovery.

The Fastest Cosmetic Surgery Procedures

Generally speaking, the fastest cosmetic surgery procedures are usually injectables. In most cases, injectables such as Botox and dermal fillers will have no true “recovery” period. You’ll be able to resume your daily activities immediately after your injections (though, you may be advised to avoid contact sports for a day or two).

In some cases, however, you may have a little bit of redness, swelling, or bruising. So if you undergo your injectable on a Friday, you have plenty of time to let that bruising and swelling recede. By the time you go back to work on Monday, most of your bruising should be a distant memory. That said, every case is different, and you’ll want to talk to your cosmetic surgeon about any concerns you may have.

Microneedling Ready by Monday?

Another very popular cosmetic surgery procedure is something called Microneedling. This is a procedure that uses a device (for example, SkinPen) to make thousands of tiny incisions across the face. These incisions in and of themselves are harmless, but together they trigger the body’s natural healing responses. Because there’s virtually no physical damage to heal, those healing properties are then absorbed by your body in a way that rejuvenates your skin.

Microneedling can leave your skin looking red and feeling rather sensitive. It can take several days for your skin to return back to normal and for the redness to go away. So you might not be fully healed by the time you go back to work on Monday. But you might be much closer to your usual self, and that can be enough for some people. With Microneedling, you might want to take a long weekend before you return to work.

The nice thing is that you’ll look extra great by the time you return to work after that long weekend. The Microneedling can help you look and feel a little more youthful. And those results will start to manifest after a few days to a couple of weeks.

Ask Your Cosmetic Surgeon

If you have a timeline for your cosmetic surgery procedure–whether that’s a timeline suggested by you or imposed by outside events–that’s something you should discuss with your cosmetic surgeon. In most cases, recovery for cosmetic surgery procedures tend to vary; some procedures require a couple of days for bruising to go away. Other procedures might see lingering effects for a couple of weeks.

So you’ll definitely want to talk to your cosmetic surgeon about what you can expect from your cosmetic surgery procedure. That information should be pretty easy to come by, but there could be personal variables that change your expected recovery time. After all, everyone heals at a different rate. That’s why getting cosmetic surgery over the weekend can be a fantastic idea. You just have to talk it over with your surgeon first. And you may still need to take a few days off of work.
