Summary: The smallest cosmetic procedure you can get just might make the biggest difference in your life. Sometimes we underestimate the impact that something so simple as the removal of a wart can make for someone. But it turns out that even small procedures make a big difference. That’s something plastic surgeons have known for a while, but we in the public are just turning our attention to now.
What Is the Smallest Cosmetic Procedure You Can Get?
It’s not always the big things that get under our skin from a cosmetic point of view. Sometimes, the smallest cosmetic procedure you can get is going to yield the biggest rewards. These tiny procedures (kind of like tiny homes) are the perfect size to address miniscule issues that nonetheless can impact one’s confidence and self esteem.
The small issues addressed by these procedures range from utterly miniscule to, maybe, about the size of a penny. This isn’t an “official” category, after all, so your own tiny cosmetic procedure will likely vary somewhat.
Plastic surgery has a reputation for big and bold procedures–and that reputation is well earned. But there’s another side to that story. Plastic surgery is also capable of producing fantastic results on a small and subtle scale. And those procedures have a significant demand. So what are some of the smallest cosmetic procedures you can get? Let’s take a look!
Warts are an incredibly common version of an infection of the skin. Essentially, when the human papillomavirus (HPV) or any member of that virus family gains a foothold in your skin, the resulting growth can cause the development of a wart. Typically, warts are spread the same way any other virus is spread–through contact (warts have nothing to do with frogs or toads).
As with any virus, your susceptibility to warts and wart-like symptoms will depend most significantly on your genetic makeup. Treatments usually begin with home remedies and over-the-counter solutions you can find at the drugstore, but it is important to begin treatment immediately, as your own wart can spread to other warts elsewhere on your body (and on other people’s bodies).
That’s why sometimes patients will see a hand surgeon or plastic surgeon in order to treat their wart. Most often, a freezing agent such as liquid nitrogen will be deployed to freeze the wart off. But in other cases, surgeons will carefully remove the wart from the body via surgical means. The results tend to be both aesthetically and physiologically pleasing to the patient.
Belly Button Surgery
The next tiny plastic surgery procedure focuses on one of your smaller anatomical features: your belly button. Now, we might not typically think of the belly button as an area that needs a lot of aesthetic attention, but that’s been changing somewhat in the last few years.
People are requesting belly button surgery in order to improve the appearance of this little quirk of anatomy. For some people, that means turning an “outie” into an “innie.” For other people that means refining the overall look of their belly button. For still others, the procedure is about restoring a belly button that pregnancy or weight loss distorted.
It might seem a little silly at first glance. After all, the belly button doesn’t seem like an overwhelming concern from a distance. But a combination of modern navel-showing fashion and social media have made this popular.
Technically, liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure. That’s why you see it offered by so many cosmetic surgeons as well as plastic surgeons. And it does make it onto our list of the smallest cosmetic procedures you can get. But there are some caveats.
First, the qualifications. Most liposuction procedures require an incision only a few centimeters in length. That’s an incredibly small incision for a procedure that can yield such dramatic results.
But there are, as we said, caveats. First and foremost, the liposuction method means that most patients will experience a relatively substantial recovery period. Second, liposuction generally yields the best results when it’s performed by a highly qualified plastic or cosmetic surgeon. So you want to make sure that you’re seeing the right surgeon.
Small Changes Make a Big Difference
It’s obvious, we hope, that even small changes can make a big difference. The removal of a wart can help you feel more confident, the change of your belly button can boost your self esteem, the reduction of fat can give you the body you’ve always wanted. The smallest cosmetic procedure you can get can make a big, meaningful difference in your life.
That’s not to say that you can’t still get the big procedures you want. Of course you can. It’s just that, often, the little things are what really bug us. And we tend to think that those little things are somehow beneath plastic surgery. It turns out, that’s simply not true at all.
