Summary: Body contouring has long been a successful element of plastic surgery; but now there are non surgical means of achieving a slimmer, leaner look.

Liposuction Myths

The myth out there, in the world, is that if you work really, really hard at both dieting and exercising, you will have perfect control over the shape of your body. The reason, this myth states, that celebrities look so fabulous (even after ordeals such as child-bearing) is that they’re able to afford personal trainers that work them out around the clock. And to be sure, that is a significant piece of the puzzle. I’m lucky if I can hit the gym for thirty minutes a day, but I’d be lying if I said even those thirty minutes didn’t accomplish something. But that’s only half the story.

Because the reality is that sometimes the human body is quite stubborn. After all, your body is designed to store fat. That’s what it’s good at because that’s what helps it survive. So even on the most fit individual, you’re going to find stubborn areas of fat that the body refuses to eliminate. For some people, these stubborn areas of fat can be problematic—either their locations cause some social discomfort or maybe it keeps the individual from feeling truly fit. In many cases, clothes would fit better without that area of fat. That’s why we certainly don’t blame Britney Spears one bit if her body contouring plastic surgery rumors are true.

The Britney Spears Plastic Surgery Rumors

So, recently, Britney Spears was out in public and was photographed with an awesome body—even for Britney Spears. According to her publicist and other sources, she’s been working out lately, which helps explain the new shape of her body. But there are some rumors circling about that maybe this wasn’t a totally natural result. According to some unconfirmed reports (so take it with a grain of salt), Britney Spears has injections of LipoDissolve in order to “melt away” areas of fat around her legs and belly.

Ways to Mitigate Stubborn Fat

Of course, this is completely plausible. Liposuction and its non surgical alternatives are quite popular. Those procedures are designed to address precisely the issue raised in the paragraphs above—stubborn areas of fat. And, of course, there are multiple ways to do that, even outside of typical liposuction.

  • Coolsculpting: This procedure uses cold to “freeze” fat cells out of existence. The brilliance of the procedure is that it takes advantage of some basic cell facts. Your skin cells have a much higher tolerance to cold than your fat cells do (this makes sense—your skin is on the outside, fat is on the inside). But by exposing the fat to intense cold, that fat is forced to break down and you’re left looking slimmer
  • LipoSonix: This procedure works on the same principle as CoolSculpting (sort of) in that it uses some clever technology to target fat without the need for surgery. However, instead of using cold to eliminate fat, LipoSonix uses ultrasonic energy; in other words, it uses sound! It’s a pretty cool technology that really helps eliminate some stubborn areas of fat.
  • Kybella: Okay, this one’s new. Kybella is an injectable capable of eliminating submental fat. That is, it can melt away the fat found in the so-called “double chin.” Double chins are notoriously difficult to target through exercise or through dieting, so having a non surgical way to target those is big. Well, not literally.

Surgical Liposuction

Britney Spears, according to these reports, was likely only after subtle results because, for all their value, non surgical procedures are only capable of delivering such subtle (but excellent) results. If you want big results, you’ll have to go for a surgical procedure, and that means liposuction. According to the website of the Minneapolis liposuction experts at Minneapolis Plastic Surgery, even though liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure, it still requires some downtime and recovery.

That can make it a less appealing prospect to some patients. But there’s no denying the power of the results. Really, if you want big results, surgical liposuction is the only way to go. But it’s important to keep in mind that just because those results are bold doesn’t mean they fail to look natural. On the contrary, modern liposuction techniques are able to achieve an incredibly natural looking final result.

There’s No Telling

The truth is that there’s no telling which body contouring procedure Britney Spears went in for just by looking at her. In large part, that’s because even non surgical body contouring procedures are pretty effective. That’s one of the reason they remain so incredibly popular.
